Nepal Needs Our Help

Catastrophic flooding has swept through communities across Nepal, taking at least 1,400 lives and leaving more than 6,000 people still missing.

The need for immediate assistance—and the long work of recovery and rebuilding—is immense.

Skål International New York, together with Skål chapters and partners throughout the travel and tourism industry, is asking our members, colleagues and friends to stand with the people of Nepal during this extraordinary time of need.

Every contribution, regardless of size, will demonstrate the compassion and generosity of our global travel community.

Where Your Contribution Will Go

Skål International New York is coordinating the collection of contributions through this campaign.

Funds raised will be transferred to the Government of Nepal’s official disaster-relief fund in coordination with the Consulate General of Nepal in New York and Consul General Dadhiram Bhandari.

The funds will support rescue, relief, recovery and rebuilding efforts for the people and communities affected by the flooding.

Important Information

Skål International New York is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(7) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions made through this campaign are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal income-tax purposes. A 3.5% payment-processing fee applies to contributions made through this website. Donors will not be charged more than the contribution amount they select. As its contribution to the campaign, Skål International New York will cover processing fees up to a total of $500. If aggregate processing fees exceed $500, the excess will be deducted from the campaign proceeds before the remaining funds are transferred to the relief effort. At the conclusion of the campaign, Skål International New York will report the total amount contributed by donors, the processing fees incurred, the amount of those fees covered by the Club, the final amount transferred, the official relief fund receiving the proceeds, and the date the transfer was completed.
